Uttarakhand is the land of spirituality; and is called the Devbhoomi (meaning the land of gods and goddesses). The land is so pious that everywhere one finds temples being dedicated to the ‘Lord of the Lord – Shiva’. It is the sacred land of ‘Chard Dham Yatra’, which consists of ‘Badrinath Dham, Kedarnath Dham, Gangotri, and Yamunotri’. It is the Himalayas, which makes it look more tranquil, pious, and valley worthy of ‘Devbhoomi’.
The sun rays further illuminating the peaks of snowcapped ‘Himalayas’ gives the glitter of being in heaven. The experience of being in Devbhoomi is more glorified with the camping near lakes of Kumaon valley, and later driving upwards towards the king of mountains ‘Mukteshwar’.
The best to travel is through the jungle when approaching the vacations in Mukteshwar hill station. It is a 10 km drive, and you need to check through forest check post; and exit after 10 km from the next check post.
- You should not get off your vehicle, while driving through the midst of jungle. It is strictly warned, because of animals. The tiger of Kumaon famed by ‘Jim Corbett – the legendary hunter’ and other carnivores may attack. So, it is advised to drive steadily at controlled speed through the jungle.
- Jungle Drive:
The jungle drive is suggested to adventure traveler and nature lover. The drive up to your resort is all about enchanting sights, chasing deer, spotting migratory birds, surreal sounds by monkeys, and if lucky you may spot in wild the glimpse of a predator. Further, the season time of March can be enamoring as the entire jungle will be brightening with Rhododendrons.
The thick deodar forest, blood red rhododendrons, and bent branches of tress sometimes make you feel like staying there forever and sometimes reflect mystery to be unlocked. The jungle drive is relaxing, awe – wondering, captivating, yet provoking thoughts of some stories to be told.
After a drive of 10 km you will reach the exit gate. The areas near the exit gates have families living of forest department officials, people walking casually, forests are cleared, and hotels in Mukteshwar have started. - Mukteshwar Morning Walk – Himalayan Landscape
